Neurotoxin Aftercare

For patients receiving neuromodulators including Botox^®, Dysport^® and Xeomin^® injections, please follow these instructions:

• Remain upright for approximately 4 hours post-treatment.
• Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for 12 hours.
• You can expect to have mild bruising and swelling, which is normal and typically mild.
• Avoid rubbing or touching the treated area for 24 hours.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, sun, excessive heat, and alcohol for 24 hours, as these exposures may result in additional swelling.
• As a reminder, it takes 3-5 days to start to notice the effects of these products and up to 10-14 days for the results to be optimal.  
• If needed, schedule a follow up between days 14-21 days post-treatment for a dose adjustment.
