EMSELLA® for Urinary Incontinence

Book Now

EMSELLA is a unique technology that revolutionizes women’s health by providing a noninvasive, in-office treatment for urinary incontinence. Over 25 million Americans*, mostly women, suffer from incontinence due to aging, childbirth, and menopause, affecting their daily lives and causing embarrassment. EMSELLA is cleared by the FDA specifically for the stimulation of the female pelvic floor muscles to rehabilitate weak muscles and restore control, greatly reducing leakage and the constant urge to urinate. We are excited to offer this treatment at our Regenerative Medicine Center, Longevità Medical.

How Does EMSELLA Work?

EMSELLA safely delivers high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM®), the same technology used for MRIs, to stimulate the deep pelvic floor muscles, which restores neuromuscular control to the pelvic area. This energy is delivered while the client sits on the EMSELLA chair fully clothed. Each session equates to approximately 11,000 Kegel exercises.

Who Is a Candidate for EMSELLA?

The EMSELLA procedure is specially designed for women of any age who experience stress, urge, or overflow incontinence. Good candidates for the EMSELLA procedure desire a solution to improve the quality of their lives.

You may also consider diVa® laser vaginal rejuvenation, which improves the quality of vaginal tissues.

What to Expect During Your EMSELLA Treatment

All EMSELLA treatments are administered at Longevità Medical, Rochester’s first and only provider of this technology. Prior to scheduling an EMSELLA treatment, we require a personal consultation with one of our professionals to explain the procedure and determine whether you are a candidate for it. At that time, we will thoroughly review what the procedure can and cannot achieve to ensure realistic expectations and a full understanding of what to expect.

On the day of the procedure, you will be asked to remove all metal jewelry, clothing, and accessories, and then sit on the EMSELLA chair fully clothed. A typical treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. You’ll experience tingling and pelvic floor muscle contractions, but they should not be painful. During the treatment, you are free to read a book or magazine, listen to music, or simply relax.

What Is Recovery Like After EMSELLA?

There is no recovery period for EMSELLA. You may resume normal, daily activities immediately after treatment.

What Results Can I Expect from EMSELLA?

The results of the EMSELLA procedure vary; some clients experience improvement after the first treatment session. Typically, results continue to improve over for a few weeks after treatment.

Most clients need about 6 treatments, scheduled twice a week, to achieve the desired results. After the initial series of treatments, clients can continue with maintenance treatments every 3 to 4 months.
